Brief: Promote SO Festival 2011 and Skegness Beach Sport Programme locally, regionally and nationally to encourage visitors and engage the local community and stakeholders.
How? Building on the success of SO Festival 2010, the project combined online, press and stakeholder relations, supported by radio and media partnerships and advertising.
Results: More than 40 million people saw or heard SO Festival coverage through 193 pieces of print coverage, six hours of radio coverage and five items of TV news coverage. Coverage appeared in The Guardian, News of the World, The People and The Telegraph amongst others.
Over 19 national and regional journalists visited the festival, including three live broadcasts by Look North and BBC Lincolnshire and a Press Association photographer attending the festival.
Independent evaluation showed that 46,000 people attended the festival and spent £1.06 million over the three days. 85% said they would return for SO Festival 2012.
